MOV vs MP4: what's the difference?

MOV vs MP4 comes down to who supports them. MOV is Apple's video format, made for QuickTime and Apple devices. MP4 is the industry standard that almost every phone, PC, TV and website plays.

The picture can look identical in both. The difference is what happens when you share it: a MOV from an iPhone may not play on Windows or Android, while an MP4 nearly always does.

If you are sending a video to someone else or uploading it, use MP4. You can convert MOV files to MP4 below.
