How do I get my iPhone to take JPG instead of HEIC?
To get your iPhone to take JPG instead of HEIC, open Settings, tap Camera, tap Formats, then choose Most Compatible. Every new photo will be saved as a JPG from then on.
The trade-off is space. JPGs are roughly twice the size of HEIC files, so your photo library will fill up faster.
The setting only changes new photos. For the HEIC photos already on your phone or computer, drop them into the converter below and download them as JPGs.
