Why can't I open HEIC files on my PC?
You can't open HEIC files on a lot of PCs because HEIC is Apple's photo format, and Windows doesn't fully support it out of the box. iPhones have saved photos as HEIC by default since 2017, because the files are about half the size of a JPG.
Windows can show them once you install Microsoft's HEIF and HEVC add-ons from the Microsoft Store, but plenty of websites, upload forms and older apps still refuse them.
The simplest fix is to turn them into JPGs, which open everywhere. Drop your HEIC photos into the converter below, pick JPG and download them all at once.
