Make files smaller than 5MB

Make files smaller than 5MB: photos come back as JPGs and PDFs get compressed. Free. No sign-up. No watermark.

Drag files here

Photos (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC) and PDFs. Anything already under the limit is left alone.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop your photos or PDFs

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC or PDF. Add as many as you like.

  2. 2

    Check the limit

We've set it to 5MB. Change it if your form asks for something different.

  3. 3

    Download

Photos come back as JPGs under the limit, with their new size shown. Grab them one by one, or all in one zip.

Questions

Is it private?

Yes. We never see your files, and nothing is stored after you close the page.

Is it really free?

Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no limit on how many files you shrink.

Will my photo still look OK at 5MB?

At very small sizes we shrink the picture's dimensions as well as its quality, and show you the new size so you can check it meets the form's rules.

What if a file is already small enough?

It is left exactly as it is.

What if it can't get under the limit?

We give you the smallest version we could make and show its size, so you can split the PDF into parts if needed.

Will it change how my PDF looks?

We start gently by shrinking the photos inside, which keeps text sharp. If that is not enough, pages become images at a lower resolution, so very fine print can look softer and text can no longer be selected.

Which photos work?

JPG, PNG, WebP and iPhone HEIC. They come back as JPG files.

Can I shrink a password protected PDF?

Not directly. Remove the password first, then add the file again.
